Chenango Valley (CV) 1963-1964 (11-7, 13-8) CV Tied for the TCL title this year. Early with a loss to Owego, 66-64, CV fell to 4-4. Juggling the lineup Art found the combination to go 7-3 the rest of the year. CV split with North, Central, Norwich, and JC. They were able to avenge a 24 pt loss to JC with a Sect 4 playoff win 68-59. CV followed this up beating Owego for the 1st time of 3 games played 64-55. Berg held the areas highest scorer, Mike Steele, to 15 pts. CV was closed out for the year with the 2nd loss to North 48-38, North taking 2 of 3 games. This was a great turn around from the two prior years. Marv Berg averaged 17.5 per game and made the Evening Press Team, John Reid 12.5 and excellent ball handling and Tom Macko the senior star was hurt skiing missing part of the season. “No more skiing for ball players!” Jim Brown was the deadeye to get the opponents out of a zone.
