This club became known as the “Century Club” after its 1st game by drubbing Vestal 108-40, a school scoring record, with Ken Pichette hitting 45. They played all their home games at State Tech. In addition to 3 more games over 100 they turned in a 99 and 98 performance. The only loss was at Ithaca in the 4th game of the season 71-70, the full court press of Ithaca was very effective. The famous “bench men” Brian Crabb, Stan Drazen and Lee Day saw lots of action this year usually adding to the leads. The season saw many players in double figures including Pichette, Ted Parke, Jon Cincebox, Lee Day, Ed Rogers and Ron McKane as noted in the yearbook. The Bulldogs revenged last years loss to St. Lucy ending their 25 game streak 54-49. Central came from behind against UE in the Sect 4 tourney then walked easily to the title beating North 73-44, EFA 64-48 and finally draining Union Springs 78-58 at Barton Hall. This was the 2nd Sect 4 Class AA title in a row. Binghamton Central 1953-1954 (17-1, 22-1)
