Binghamton Central 1951-52

This year showed signs of things to come by setting school scoring records for an individual, Chuck Rolles hit 63 points beating ESS 88-40 and for the team downing Vestal 93-69. Chuck Rolles and Bob Jastrab were Co-Captains. The team was dubbed the “tremendous trio” with Bob Jastrab at center and Bill Gavula and Jim Dubil at forward and the “Fabulous Five” with Chuck Rolles and Mike Dranichak played guard. January graduation left only the guards and a lot of speculation. They went on to win the Southern Tier Conference, but lost to a strong UE team in the Sect 4 tourney. The fabulous five entered the YMCA senior tournament and beat the same UE team and then won the tournament.
