The Bullpups continued to start strong only to lose key players to the varsity. They lost 3 by a total of  15 to Vestal(41-30), Ithaca(33-30) and North(39-38). Four more losses came after Ed Mosher and Skip Whittle was elevated to the varsity for the last ½ of the season. A high point came as the Bullpups ended Ithaca unbeaten season Feb 19,1949, 35-32. Paul Kernaklian and Gus Zurenda controlled the boards, Bruce Baker, Bob Matthews and Tom O’Connor played a fast floor game. Barney Hess, Ray Duell and Gerry Sullivan contributed fine ball handling.
