The season opened with Art’s 1st Varsity victory subbing for Whitey at Oneonta 42-27., Bill Chanecka 22. Art then went back to JV’s for 4 straight wins. Art came up for good 1/8/43 dropping UE 55-25 and Chanecka outscoring UE! Central beat unbeaten Proctor at North, 1/13/43 the JV’s  lost for the 1st time in 4 seasons, crushed the Steuben Co. “Dream Team”, Hornell(9-0) on their court, celebrated an early title with Esther cooking for the team, Feb 2 Art lost for the first time in 5 years to JC 43-42, Chanecka hit 28 Feb 26 avenging 2 close JC losses 61-33! March 20th the Bulldogs won the rubber game with JC at North and the TC title in a 3-way playoff with North. Central drew Watertown in the Sectional  tourney losing 33-31 using  a white ball for the 1st time. A great 1st varsity campaign for Art losing only 3 games by a total of 4 points!
